Interconnection Services

GPX provides a secure, neutral environment within each data center that facilitates easy, reliable, economical interconnection between all customers, whether they are content providers, Internet service providers (ISPs), local or multinational enterprise, or Telecommunications carriers (Telco’s). The GPX Structured Wiring Interconnect System (SWIS) consists of Category 6 LAN cabling, coaxial cable, and single and multi-mode fiber. A structured wiring database system ensures accurate cable and circuit assignment as well as efficient maintenance of the entire IT platform.

LOCAL ACCESS & INTERCONNECTION

GPX provides both physical one-to-one cross-connect and LAN based switched one-to-many interconnection services. Powered by Cisco’s premier intelligent multilayer modular switch technology, GPX provides LAN connectivity at speeds of 10/100 Mb/s, up to full GigE. The LAN switch service provides a flexible and advantageous alternative when either non-private lower bandwidth or connectivity to multiple parties is required.

TELCO ACCESS / NETWORK DIVERSITY

Connectivity between the GPX data centers and the local Telco’s is accomplished via a private, dedicated fiber optic ring. Typical configuration includes fiber from the Telco, Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) Add/Drop Multiplexer (ADM) terminals in each connected Telco central office and in the GPX data center. On the tributary side, a mix of E1/DS1, E3/DS3 and 10/100 Mbps LAN and other interfaces provide connectivity between GPX customers.
